Students are used to hearing a morning bell – but nothing like this one! We often tell students to “let freedom ring” and visiting the Liberty Bell is truly a special experience to live the concept. Students will walk on sacred ground as they explore where the Declaration of Independence was signed. Then it is time for another legendary, nearly equally historic gift from the city of Brotherly Love: Philly cheesesteaks! Once the food coma has worn off, start making your way to Freedom Rising at the National Constitution Center and experience a theatrical production of the U.S. Constitution and the American journey for freedom. After a mind-expanding day, students will love to blow off some steam with dinner and games at Dave & Busters!

After getting breakfast at the hotel, students can explore the endless contributions of one of the greatest Americans, Benjamin Franklin, at the Franklin Institute, founded in honor of one of our country’s very first scientists. After learning about this historical hero, students may want to play a modern-day one as they run up Philly’s famous “Rocky Steps” in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. After an afternoon of victory at the top, enjoy a quiet dinner with the beautiful skyline as a backdrop.

Your last day in Philadelphia will actually be …in nearby Lancaster. Also known as “Amish Country”, it is a very short drive, yet WORLDS away from the hustle and bustle of the modern city. A truly immersive and inspiring experience, groups often start off the day with a tour of the Kreider Dairy Farm and then mooo-ve on into the trolley and visit cow palace, a milking merry-go-round. Next up can be “Jacob’s Choice” at the Amish theater or a tour of a one-room school! After a cordless and electricity-free day, students will be happy to be greeted by the bright lights of the city upon their return for a modern (and well lit!) dinner in the city.
